Vaccines to Improve Heart HealthVaccinations are very important from the point of view of avoiding many serious diseases. People usually take vaccinations to ward off flu and other infectious diseases such as measles and whooping cough. However, no vaccines have been developed to date for preventing cardiovascular conditions such as heart attack. Anyway, many cardiac specialists are conducting researches in this field to develop a vaccine that can address conditions such as high cholesterol and elevated blood pressure.

A recent study presented at the American Heart Association (AHA), claims (on the basis of two animal studies) that vaccines might someday be used to reduce high cholesterol levels and lower blood pressure, and thereby control heart attack.

One of the studies found that rats and mice that were treated with a vaccine that protected a cell’s capacity to remove bad LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream had lower cholesterol levels for a year following the treatment. In the second study conducted in Japan, another vaccine successfully lowered high blood pressure in lab rats for a period of six months. In both instances, the vaccines worked to interrupt body processes that are the main cause of high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

Even though the findings of the research are promising, some more clarification or research is required to make it ready as a vaccine for humans. In the meantime, patients can follow some measures to control cholesterol, the AHA recommends.

  • Avoiding tobacco smoke
  • Eating a heart-healthy diet
  • Getting weekly aerobic and muscle-strengthening activity

Research and continuous learning are vital for improving healthcare. Research involves copious documentation, which involves research transcription that can prove to be very challenging since all entries have to be accurate and unambiguous. Findings should be reported with excellent accuracy, as even a minute mistake can pose serious issues. The consolidation of research findings is usually presented at a medical meeting where other scientists and researchers get to know of the important facts. Helpful suggestions enable the research team to take the research forward, or think in a new direction if that is called for. The data and conclusions should be viewed as preliminary, until it is published in a peer-reviewed journal.

In order to present research findings in a precise manner, the researchers should be well focused in each phase of their studies. This is an area where research transcription is gaining importance. Dictations, conferences, discussions, and interviews, either in audio or video format will need to be transcribed accurately. Researchers, irrespective of their field of operation, always prefer transcription and documentation of the highest standard. This is only natural since it is the only way they can have the correct information they need organized and presented well.
